This article has been updated to reflect that the convenient care location on Empire Street is open.

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Carle BroMenn medical center moved their convenient care center on College avenue to Empire Street on Nov. 1.

On Nov. 1 the Carle BroMenn convenient care center on 1437 East College avenue closed. At the same time, the services offered at that location moved to 3024 E Empire Street in Bloomington.

With the locations already in place, there was little no cost for the relocation to take place. The move set out to combine all of the quick care locations into the same facility to provide smoother access for the patients. Vice President of Carle BroMenn Medical Center Amanda Smith expressed her thoughts on the move.

“I feel the staff members have more space and more room to take care of the larger patient volumes,” she said.

The increased space in this new location will allow the healthcare providers to ensure are able to work at their max potential. Additionally, expanding to this location can increase the number of patients the health center is able to take in each day. A benefit to Carle BroMenn with the incoming cold and flu season.

“A challenge we’ve faced was that people are more familiar to the other location, but on the positive side, we’ve already been able to have additional collaborations with other providers,” Smith said. “Patients have been able utilize more services within the building which has made it more convenient.”

By allowing more accessible services and providers to the patients, it can give more free range when it comes to healthcare responsibilities.

Smith concluded with, “Our goal was to allow for more efficiencies and allow for a more complete experience for the patients. There are more imaging services at the new location which will assist the providers in their care.”
