Bobzbay Books teams up with Clover’s Cat Club for non-profit share day

Written by on August 31, 2025

NORMAL, Ill. – Bobzbay Books partnered with Clover’s Cat Club for a non-profit share day, bringing rescue cats into the store for customers to enjoy.

Clover’s was founded in 2024 and aims to help re-house cats in the Bloomington-Normal area. In less than a year, Clover’s has already helped 250 cats find their forever homes.

Executive Director Paige Sveda explained the environment of Clover’s.

“Picture if a cat cafe and an animal shelter had a baby, that’s Clover’s Cat Club,” Sveda said. “The spaces are kind of more living room spaces for the cats to be in. There aren’t really cages around, we just kind of encourage the cats to be themselves and feel comfortable while they’re waiting for their forever home.”

Clover’s representatives set up at Bobzbay Books Tuesday morning for the event, stopping in throughout the day. The collaboration was part of Bobzbay’s ongoing nonprofit partnerships, where the featured organization of the week receives 10% of the day’s sales.

“The goal was just to have the community interact with cats and to learn that Clover’s Cat Club exists in my mind,” Sveda said. “It was a nice bonus that we got a donation at the end of the day.”

Although the event didn’t lead to many immediate adoptions, it brought Clover’s valuable visibility. The relaxed atmosphere at Bobzbay also gave the cats a chance to show off their personalities in a calmer setting than they might have elsewhere.

“For me, it’s so worth it to do things like that. Even if it didn’t drive our adoption numbers up, one of the things we really like at Clover’s is to encourage animals and people to be together,” Sveda said. “I feel like it’s doing good for the community, as well to give people an outlet to be able to spend time with pets when they wouldn’t normally get to.”

Held during regular business hours, the adoption event welcomed both book lovers and cat enthusiasts to Bobzbay.
