COVID-19 Case-by-Case Update

NORMAL, Ill.- McLean County Health Department is reporting 3 new cases of COVID-19 today, compared to the 38 new cases Aug. 17, 2020, bringing our total to 779 cases.
Currently 137 individuals are isolating at home. Four individuals are currently hospitalized, with one of those in Intensive Care Unit. There are 622 individuals that have been released from isolation and are considered recovered.
There have been 16 COVID-related deaths in McLean County.
McLean County reported nearly 100 new cases of COVID last week and has averaged over 100 active cases each day.
Over 36,500 tests have been resulted for a cumulative positivity rate of 2.1%.
“The response to COVID-19 is a community effort. It will take all of us working together and taking steps to lower our risk of infection and our risk of infecting others to move McLean County forward,” said Health Department Administrator Jessica McKnight.
Asymptomatic individuals, or those who never develop symptoms despite testing positive, can also infect others.
About 7% of McLean County’s COVID cases have been asymptomatic throughout their isolation.
