NORMAL- The Illinois State Redbirds hope to even the season series match-up when they host the Bradley Braves at Redbird Arena Friday night.
The two teams faced off earlier this season at the Renaissance Coliseum in Peoria where we saw the Braves took the win 76-61.
The Braves come into tomorrow’s match-up with an overall record of 16-4 and 2nd in the MVC with a 7-2 record. Head Coach Kristen Gillespie said there are a couple keys that could help them prevail in this contest.
“It’s gonna be a big game, it’s a big rivalry game and I know both teams will be raring to go,” said Coach Gillespie. “It’s gonna be a chess match and it’ll come down to who can get stops and who can make plays.”
If the Redbirds want to come away with the win, they are going to need strong performances from players such as Juju Redmond and Mary Crompton. Coach Gillespie expanded on the importance of their play for the team.
“It just makes us better. I think both Juju and Mary are really starting to find their footing and really get comfortable with how we are playing. I think our team does a great job of finding them in areas to success,” said Coach Gillespie.
The game will be at Redbird Arena on Friday night with live coverage provided by WZND starting at 6:50 P.M.
