Written by on January 30, 2020

NORMAL, Ill.-Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker came to the Illinois State University campus yesterday, to announce that over $52 million left in capital funding will be for the renovation of facilities in the Wonsook Kim College of Fine Arts.

“With this investment, we’re giving ISU’s current and future students a world-class education in a world-class facility, and we’re giving students the tools to succeed,” said Pritzker.

The Fine Arts Complex project will include new construction that will improve Centennial East and Centennial West, the Center for the Visual Arts and the Center for the Performing Arts.

“The Fine Arts Complex renovation has been high on Illinois State University’s priority list for the past decade,” said President Larry Dietz.

With the new funds, ISU will begin working with architects on the design phase for the project. An exact construction timeline has not been finalized. The total cost for the project is $61.9 million, which includes the announced $52.3 million and another $9.6 million for emergency repairs.
