Illinois State to renovate College of Fine Arts

NORMAL – Former Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner granted Illinois State University 9.6 million dollars to help renovate and repair the College of Fine Arts.

The university has been waiting 10 years for renovations for the CFA, this came on one of Rauner’s last days of being the Governor so he decided to give the go. The renovations are scheduled to start at the beginning of this summer and will most likely go into the 2019-2020 school year. There will be no buildings being torn down on campus, the CFA is just being renovated with things such as better heating, ventilation, plumbing, lighting and air conditioning.

“The students will not have to worry about the construction,” said ISU Vice President for Finance and Planning Dan Stephens. “We will start the process once the semester ends.”

The College of Fine Arts is one of the most worn down and out of style buildings on campus. With the money being brought in by the state, it can help change the College of Fine Arts and make it more attractive to the new and old students at ISU.
