Redbird Volleyball Begins Missouri Valley Conference Play with Weekend Roadtrip

On Friday, Illinois State volleyball will head to Chicago to face UIC with first serve set for 6pm. The Flames will enter the match following a three-match weekend in which UIC lost two of three matches.

The last time the Redbirds faced the Flames was on Nov. 19 in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament. The match went five sets ending in an Illinois State win which pushed them into the MVC semifinals. In that match, Ruth Ziegler recorded 12 kills and 8 blocks and Ella Crags recorded a match-high 26 assists. The Redbirds’ record against the Flames all time is 20-12 with a 7-4 record on the road.

On Saturday, Illinois State will head over to Indiana to face Valparaiso with first serve set for 7pm. The Beacons will enter the match coming off a win against Canisius on Sept. 19.

The two teams last matchup was on Nov. 14,  with the match going five sets ending in a Redbird win. Highlights from that match included Oliwia Caputa recording her eighth double-digit-dig match of the 2025 season. Logan Grevengoed also recorded double-digit kills for the third time that season. Continuing with double-digit theme, Craggs and Audrey Clark both reached double digits in assists.

Overall, Illinois State’s record against Valparaiso is 15-7 with an 8-2 record on the road.
