Bloomington-Normal IHSA Week 3 Preview

Normal, Ill. — Bloomington-Normal high school football teams returned to the field for week 2 last Friday night, as the teams went a combined 4-1.

Normal Community High School has dominated their opponents so far this season. They are coming off a 62-0 win against Manual, starting their conference season 2-0. They will take on Richwoods on the road Friday night. NCHS has combined for 109 points and has only given up 4 points this year. They look to begin 3-0 for the fourth straight season. 

University High School is now 0-2 after a 63-18 loss to Mahomet-Seymour. U-High is coming off a very strong season including a playoff run. They will face off against Glenwood on home turf tonight. They will look to grab their first win of the season as the defense has given up 118 points in the first 2 weeks combined.

Normal West High School is 2-0 and 1-0 in conference play to begin the season with wins over Glenwood and Champaign Central. They will take on Centennial for their first home game of the year. Normal West will look to start their season off 3-0 for the first time since 2022.

Bloomington Central Catholic is 2-0 following dominate wins over Paxton-Buckley-Loda, 41-0, and Illinois Valley Central, 41-6, in the first two weeks. Both games have been conference games and they will take on Tolono Unity for their third conference game in a row. BCCHS has beaten Both sides of the football have been very strong for the Saints.

Bloomington High School looks to get over the .500 mark when they take on Manual at home this week. The Purple Raiders lost to local rival Normal Community 47-4 and beat Urbana 46-0 in blowout fashion.
