Six wounded in shooting on Franklin Avenue

NORMAL, Ill. – Normal Police are investigating a shooting that injured six people early this morning. Officers responded around 2:40 a.m. to reports of multiple shots fired in the 700 block of Franklin Avenue in Normal.
Upon arrival, officers found six individuals with gunshot wounds, including two juvenile males, two adult males and two adult females. All injuries appeared non-life threatening according to the judgement of the responding officers. No further information on the conditions of any of the victims is available at this time.
Normal Police are processing the evidence in tandem with the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services. The incident is being investigated by the Normal Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. Preliminary investigation suggests this is an isolated incident, and no arrests have been made.
