NORMAL, Ill. – The Redbirds face off against Northern Iowa on Wednesday night inside the McLeod Center at 6 p.m.

This is the final road trip for Illinois State as the regular season enters its final week.

ISU and UNI met back on Jan. 27th in Normal, with the Redbirds coming out on top 59-54. Boden Skunberg was the only Redbird in double digits, leading the game in scoring with 20 points. For the Panthers, Ben Schwieger was the scoring leader for the team with 15 points.

This is a homecoming game for Redbird forward Landon Wolf, who played for Northern Iowa for three seasons. Wolf also went to High School in Cedar Falls.

Both teams come into the game with the same record of 18-11 and a Missouri Valley Conference record of 10-8. ISU and UNI are tied for fifth in the Valley standings with Valparaiso, looking to secure a bye.

Illinois State’s Chase Walker is questionable with a hamstring injury, so the leading scorers for the Redbirds are both Johnny Kinziger and Ty’Reek Coleman, averaging 11 points a game. Skunberg is also a double-digit scorer for ISU with 10 points per game.

On the Panthers’ end, Trey Campbell leads the points category with 13 points per game. Other double-digit scorers for UNI are Leon Bond and Will Hornseth with 11 points per game.
