NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State University baseball team defeated the Brown University Bears 9-7 in game two of the Snowbird Classic in Port Charolette, Fla.
ISU continues to put up numbers offensively, scoring at least nine runs in four games so far this season.
The Redbirds saw major contributions at the plate from Sophomore Brayden Banks, who had 2 RBIs and scored a run of his own.
Missouri Valley Player of the Week Graham Mastros was also productive at the plate, going 2 for 5 with 1 RBI and scored 2 runs.
Sophomore pitcher Carson Cormier made his first career start in this game. Cormier struck out four in 3.0 innings of work.
Junior pitcher Lucas Foley earned his second win of the year, striking out two and giving up zero hits and zero runs in 3.0 innings.
ISU now improves to a record of 5-1 with a three-game win streak in its young season. They look to extend that streak to four games, and sweep the Snowbird Classic, when they take on Miami University tomorrow at 11 a.m.
For all things Redbird baseball, stay tuned to WZND.
