Illinois State Gymnastics Places Third In Tri-Meet

NORMAL, Ill.- Illinois State Gymnastics headed to Indiana over the weekend in a tri-meet against Ball State and Kent State. During the meet, the Redbirds posted a season high score on bars.
The Redbirds earned themselves a 48.925 on bars, a season high. Sophomore Madyson Baucom and Jada Beswick tied for fifth place with scores of 9.825. Freshman Jercy Koliego tied for seventh place finishing with a 9.800.
On vault, Sophomore Savannah Ray posted a career high with a score of 9.850 which earned her a tie for first place. Freshman Sammie Wolff, placed third with a score of 9.825. Illinois State finished 48.575.
Junior Jaly Jones and Sophomore Ally Lau were the highlights on beam with the duo tying for fourth place with scores of 9.725. Redbirds finished beam just shy of a team season best score for the second meet in a row with a score of 47.925.
On the floor, Senior Leah Davis recorded a top five finish with a score of 9.800 while Senior Courtney Woods finished in the top ten finish to tie for ninth with a score of 9.750.
Final scores of the meet were Ball State 195.300, Kent State 194.650, and Illinois State 193.975. Next up for the Redbirds will be up against MIC rival Southeast Missouri State at home on February 14th.
