IHSA Football Recap: Round 1 of the Playoffs

NORMAL, Ill. – The chase for a state championship started this past weekend with round one of the playoffs in the books.
Bloomington Central Catholic continues its undefeated season after a round-one win against Princeton. The final score was 41-20, sending the Saints to round 2 with a 10-0 record. In round two, Central Catholic will host the round 2 matchup against Monmouth-Roseville on Saturday, Nov. 8th, at 1 p.m.
Bloomington High School was victorious in round one after a victory over Mascoutah on Saturday with a final score of 57-26. The Purple Raiders are now sitting with a 7-3 record heading into round two. Bloomington travels to Oak Forest on Saturday, Nov. 8th, at 2 p.m.
Normal West is moving on to round two after picking up a win against Thornwood on Saturday. The Wildcats picked up the victory by a score of 34-24, improving their record to 8-2. The Wildcats will travel to face Simeon on Saturday, Nov. 8th at 1 p.m.
Normal Community lost in a high-scoring game to Carmel-Mundelein this past Saturday. The final score was 60-44 in favor of Carmel. The Ironmen’s season came to an end after that loss, giving them a final record of 7-3.
Normal University lost to Washington this past Friday night by a score of 45 to 13. U-High’s season comes to an end with a final record of 5-5.
