PEORIA, Ill. – The Academic Investment Program is a tuition support program developed by Carle Health to assist nursing students at Methodist College.

The Chancellor of Methodist College, Kayla Banks, explains the benefits of the program after graduation.

“They will have a direct pathway for open clinical nursing positions across the Carle Health system, so at all eight hospitals, and all of our various clinical locations across Central Illinois,” Banks said. “They will be fulfilling that nursing commitment once they start in that nursing role.”

Since COVID, there has been a significant shortage of healthcare professionals across the country. Carle Health strives to provide financial aid to those who are eager for a career in healthcare.

“We know that cost of education is a barrier for many who have a desire and an aptitude for a career in healthcare,” Banks said. “Anything we can do to remove those barriers is so important to make sure we have a robust and diverse workforce to meet the growing demand for healthcare professionals.”

Current and prospective Methodist College students are eligible and encouraged to apply for the program once they have completed FAFSA [Federal Application for Student Aid]. Students who receive funds must be willing to make a work commitment to Carle Health after graduation.

Methodist College is in the process of going through applications and notifying students of their eligibility and approval to participate.
