Second Look: April 14th

On this week’s episode of Second Look, WZND’s Colleen Holden, Joey Delahunty and Luke Biondi took a look at crime in Bloomington-Normal, updates to the Higher Education User Group Board of Directors, Representative Eric Sorenson’s recent visit to Heartland Community College, the National Day of Silence and an update about Redbird softball.

The show opened with an interview between Joey Delahunty from the news team and Normal Police Public Information Officer Brad Park about a case of aggravated discharge of a weapon that occurred on April 3 in Kennebeck Court. (0:56-3:20)

Following that, WZND’s Alexandra Courson talked to ISU’s Office of Technology Solutions Executive Director Todd Smoak, who was recently named to the Higher Education User Group Board of Directors. (3:35-8:24)

Next, Riley Klump from the news team sat down with Heartland Community College’s Public Information Director Steve Fast to talk about the college’s new agriculture facility and the recent visit from Representative Eric Sorenson. (9:00-15:01)

Then, Colleen Holden talked to Becca Mackey, president of ISU’s Students Ending Rape Culture RSO to discuss the national Day of Silence, a day of solidarity with the LBGTQIA+ community against homophobic transgressions and silencing of the community as a whole. (15:25-19:50)
