On March 8th, Ariana Grande Released eternal sunshine, her 7th studio album. This album takes a bubbly pop take. While this album has a generic pop taste, the album overall falls short. The album all sounds the same, and is overall forgettable. However, the deluxe version features a new song with Troye Sivan, and a remix of yes, and with Mariah Carey.
This albums’ theme is of breakups. A lot of people were expecting this album to address her divorce, her relationship with Ethan Slater, and this album wasn’t as scandalous. It overall seemed to be relatively general relationship feelings (bye and we cant be friends). yes and stirred up controversy because it was a ‘rebuttal’ to the negative claims. However, those negative claims online she was responding to, was being the other woman to Ethan Slater’s wife. That was, the biggest online ‘stir’ this album received. After the original release week, this album wasn’t making any ‘noise’.
While, mostly my review is negative, I do enjoy ‘basic’ pop! Sometimes I do just want to be mindless! bye, supernatural, yes, and, we can’t be friends are all very good songs! Easy pop dancing, and synth. I LOVE synth. But overall, I just haven’t found myself caring to listen to more of the album than that.
