UPDATE: Bloomington gunshot victim dies in apparent homicide

BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Police Department, in conjunction with the McLean County Coroner’s office, have confirmed this morning that the gunshot victim from Tuesday night’s shooting on North Oak Street has died, in an apparent homicide.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of North Oak Street between Seminary and Union around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday night, responding to multiple reports of a person shot. There is where they found an unidentified adult male laying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the chest.  Paramedics arrived on scene shortly thereafter, where they provided immediate medical aid before transporting the man to nearby Advocate BroMenn Medical Center – where he would later succumb to his injuries and pass away overnight.

BPD has yet to make any arrests at this time, and the McLean County Coroner’s office has yet to release the identity of the murder victim. BPD has also said that they are working with the Coroner’s office in preparation to release additional information on Wednesday afternoon.

Rewards of up to $1,000 are offered to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrests and indictments.

BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police have responded to reports of multiple gunshots fired Tuesday night, in the 1300 block of North Oak Street in Bloomington, between Seminary and Union.

Reports are that a neighbor called 9-1-1 after hearing three gunshots and discovering a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. Paramedics, as well as a heavy police presence, arrived on the scene within 5-7 minutes. Authorities have confirmed that at least one adult male was shot and transported to nearby Advocate BroMenn Medical Center. The condition of the adult male is currently unknown.

The BPD has made no arrests at this time.
