Local Hockey Team Appreciating Military Members

Local Hockey Team Appreciating Military Members

BLOOMINGTON – The Central Illinois Flying Aces are hosting a military appreciation night on Saturday, November 10th

The team is hosting the Dubuque Fighting Saints at Grossinger Motors Arena Saturday and they are holding a special event to honor the current and past military members.

Head Sales Executive McKenzie Rich said the team is hoping for a big turn out this year.

“We have around one thousand tickets out now,” says Rich, “We are hoping to give as much money as we can back to the local military associations around the area. They do so much for us, it is only fair we do something for them.”

The team is raising money to support local military associations to help cover costs throughout the year.

“Military members are going to be honored in a variety of ways,” Rich continued, “There is going to be a halftime show along with an Oath of Swear In ceremony for those who are leaving the service. Throughout the game we are planning on honoring quite of few individuals as well. Our ceremony will start with puck drop so we can honor the veterans and those who are serving throughout the night.”

The team tries to do this event at least once a year.  The doors open at 6 p.m. with puck drop at 7:07 p.m.

Questions will be taken by Sales Executive McKenzi Rich at Grossinger Motors Arena at (309) 434-2980.
