Album Review

Kane Brown – Kane Brown

Kane Brown – Kane Brown

By: Genae Thomas

Kane Brown, of Chattanooga, Tennessee made his first debut on X-Factor in 2013. Later he started posting videos of him singing covers and developed a following on social media in 2014. A determined Brown raised funds to help him create a six song EP titled Closer which debuted on the top country album charts. A few short years later he’s back on the top of the charts with his debut studio album Kane Brown.

I was fond of Kane Brown’s debut album my first time listening to it. The second time, I really enjoyed it and found myself singing along and swaying to the beat. The album is very relatable in that Brown talks about family, friends, love, loss, and life lessons. Kane Brown is the type of easy listening album that can be enjoyed while getting ready for the day or cruisin’ down the highway on a road trip.

One of my favorite songs was “Learning”. This touching track reminded me that no matter what we go through in life we must learn the art of forgiving and letting go. We grow through what we go through. This is a message from which everyone can benefit. Another song I really loved was the hit single “What If’s (feat. Lauren Alaina).

I appreciated the honesty in Brown’s lyrics. The songs make you feel as if you can’t help but smile, dance, and sing along. Brown does this while also telling us stories about his life from the album’s start to its finish. I am not the least bit surprised that Kane Brown debuted at number one the country charts and number 10 on the Billboard 200.

Favorite Tracks: Hometown, Learning, What If’s (feat Lauren Alaina), Found You, Comeback, Pull It Off
